Field trips allow us to connect with our world, present and past.  We visit local services and businesses including the Fire Station, Safeway and a dentist's office as well as travelling further afield.

Sholtz Pumpkin Palace is more than a pumpkin patch.  Your child will be shown a functioning garden greenhouse, animals, farm life and bring home a pumpkin as a souvenir.  A seasonal favorite just in time for Halloween!

 

 

Each year we take a ride on the Ferry from Point Defiance to Vashon and back.  Your child will watch on board as the large vehicle and passenger ferry docks, loads and heads across Puget Sound.  Sea Gulls are constant companions and often will eat right out of our hands! This short ride is a perfect first exposure to ferries for children. 

 

 

 

 

A perennial favorite at Little Learners is Pioneer Farm. Authentic cabins, barn, school, and shop house items used by pioneers that illustrate what life was like here more than a century ago. Iron working, wood working, laundry and food preparation are demonstrated with lots of hands-on experimenting for the kids. Farm animals are accessible for petting and milking and there is an excellent spot for jumping in the hay! Bring a sack lunch and enjoy the beautiful picnic facilities with your child.
