Field Trips: There are a couple of trips scheduled this month. The first one is to the Enumclaw Fire Station. This has been scheduled for Monday, October 15th for the Mon/Wed class and on Thursday, October 11th for the Tue/Thu class. We will be walking down and parents are welcome to walk along.
Then our Pumpkin Patch field trip is on Wednesday, October 24th for the Mon/Wed class and on Thursday, October 25th for the Tue/Thu class. We will be going to Sholtz Pumpkin Palace in McMillin. It is located about half way between Sumner and Orting. If you are willing to come along, we will need parents to volunteer to drive. The AM classes will leave at 9:00 AM and return at the regular time for dismissal. The PM classes will leave at 1:00 PM and be back at the regular time for dismissal. Please dress your child in warm clothes and boots. We will wander out into the fields and it can be very muddy.
Halloween News: Our Halloween parties will be from 10:45 to 11:30 on Tuesday, October 30th and Wednesday, October 31st. The afternoon class will have their party from 2:45 to 3:30. Parents are welcome to join in our fun. Please put your child's costume in a bag and we will dress the kids for the party. We will be cooking Healthy Pumpkin Muffins and we don't want any costumes ruined. If you would like to add some treats to the party please feel free to do so. Here at school we try to talk about Halloween as a time to pretend, a Fall Festival, and take away the scariness of it. We also talk about safety.
Open House: I have scheduled Open House for a couple of evenings in October. The dates are Monday, October 8th for Mon/Wed classes and Thursday, October 11th for Tue/Thu classes. Your children and their brothers and sisters are welcome to come, too. We will begin at 6:30. Hope to see you then.
Have a safe and happy Halloween!
Joliene and Becky
P.S. A big pat on the back to all of you making our pickup line after school so successful. Please remember there is more room to line up if you enter the alley off Myrtle Avenue.
