Class Size:

Enrollment is limited to 18 children per class. If there are fewer than 10 children in a class, that class is subject to cancellation. There is one teacher and one assistant in each class.

Registration:

Enrollment begins in January for the following school year. There is a $95.00, non-refundable fee for registration.  This covers field trips, special things and insurance. Please register in person at the school.

Tuition:

Tuition is due after the first session of each month.  There is a late fee for payment after the 10th of the month.  Call for tuition fee and more information.

Auditing Classes:

Your child needs to feel comfortable with his or her new school. We encourage you to observe and participate before you register or after classes have begun.  Call for more information.

WHAT WE TEACH

Letter Recognition:

Our program features the Letter People, a very visual program developed for preschoolers.  We use an inflatable, tangible character, learning page and song for each letter of the alphabet. Children interact with the teachers and the characters as they sing the songs and practice the sounds.

Each child also receives a Weekly Reader and Scholastic worksheet.

Colors & Shapes:

Every month has a color and a shape theme which are reflected in crafts, snacks and other classroom materials.  Children are introduced to shapes and colors through different media, using their senses of touch and taste as well as sight.

Choosing Time:

Play time is every bit as important as face time with the teachers.  Children hone gross and fine motor skills, experience social interaction, build imagination and nurture creativity while participating in any of a number of non-academic activities.  For 35 minutes of each class children may find themselves in the craft area, play center and costume room, library, on the jungle gym, slides or trampoline or trying the roller skates.  Perhaps your child enjoys blocks and smaller manipulatives.  There is a science table and a theme area which changes monthly. Activities can be individual or children may play together.  Choosing Time is a highlight of the day!

Field Trips:

Field trips are an important way to connect with our world. We have several each year and parents are encouraged to join us.  See the Field Trip tab for more information.

OTHER INFORMATION

Health Evaluation:

Each child's health status must be appraised. A health history and immunization record must be turned in with your registration form and all immunizations must be current.

A child with emotional, mental or physical handicaps may or may not be admitted depending on the staff assesment of the preschool's ability to meet his or her needs.

Arrival/Departure:

All individuals authorized to pick up your child from preschool must be indicated on the child's record. Others not on the approved list will not be allowed contact with your child unless prearranged by you.  Children should arrive 5 minutes prior to class time.

Dress:

A child is happiest at work or play when dressed in warm and comfortable clothes.

Food:

Each family will have the opportunity to provide snacks during the year.  Please check with the teacher when bringing food for birthdays and other planned events. (If your child has a birthday during the school year you may want to send a treat--we find that cookies and juice are easiest.)

Withdrawal:

Please notify the teacher two weeks in advance if you will be withdrawing your child from the preschool program.

Snow Policy:

Little Learners Preschool follows the same bad weather policy held by the Enumclaw School District.  If schools are closed or opening late in the mornings, we will follow the same schedule.

Holidays:

As with the Snow Policy, we will follow the Enumclaw School District calendar for school closure days for holidays.  We do not close for teacher in-service or conference days.
